Dee Beckman

Dee Beckman trained to be a fighter pilot, but she changed course to become a different type of hero — a frontline health care hero. The longtime nurse has a wealth of experience ranging from the emergency room to pediatric ICU, and she recently was named chief nursing officer of Baptist Health Lexington. 

Working in health care during a pandemic has been challenging, but it’s also reinforced the importance of compassion and gratitude.

I think this past year has taught me, and a lot of people, to take nothing for granted. Be grateful for all the moments and don’t miss an opportunity to show appreciation and kindness.
